Ballyhoura Active Series Report Weekending 03.06.18

The traditional road racing series , set in the beautiful Ballyhoura region of Cork and Limerick

Ballyhoura Active series

We are back this Friday night in Kilfinane for the 5th race in the Ballyhoura Active series, so this Friday night the 8th of June at 8pm Kilfinane is the place to be, reg is from 6.30pm on the night . Kilfinane AC have been using this route for the last few years. The race reg is in Scoil Pol and this will be race headquarters on the night. Refreshments will also be served here and the prize giving will also be here. The route starts on the road heading towards Tipperary just down from the school and follows a left hand circuit down towards Martinstown and loops back around to Kilfinane. The course is fast and the first half is all downhill on quiet country roads but there is a sting in the tail as the last half mile or so creeps back up to Kilfinane and if you push hard in the first miles this half will hurt. All an all a really good race always well run and stewarded. The late start time of 8pm will give you ample time to get there and hopefully we will get a nice dry evening on Friday night. There is a map of the route on the website and a video of the route as well.

The races will come hard and fast after this as Bilboa AC hold the Gerry Mulane 10km and 5km on Friday the 15th also at 8pm. Bilboa AC added a 5km last year and this proved very popular with new runners who came from their couch to 5k group.
