Buttevant RC notes
Only one week to go before Buttevant RC will be hosting our first 4 mile road race on Friday, 18th May at 8pm as part of the Ballyhoura Active Series and there is great excitement in the club.
Instead of training this week there will be a litter pick on the race route. Hi Viz & gloves mandatory. All welcome.
Final preparations are well advanced.
Registration is also available on the night from 6pm to 7.30pm. Race HQ will be the Buttevant GAA Hall.
There will be a shuttle bus going from Race HQ to the start line at regular intervals on the night.
There will be refreshments available in the hall afterwards for all runners, helpers & stewards.
Looking forward to seeing you on the night.
Meeting Tuesday & Thursday evenings at 7.15pm.
Please check our Facebook page & Twitter for details as to where training is starting from as we will be changing locations occasionally for the summer.
Hi Viz vests/bibs mandatory.
New Members always very welcome.
Well done to those who represented the club last weekend.
The Great Limerick Run was on a beautiful, but very hot, day last Sunday. Over 13,000 people ran on the day.
First up was Garry Collins, who did the half marathon. Great running Garry in tough conditions. So far Garry would seem to have avoided the camera but I’m still looking!
Next up flying the Buttevant RC colours were James Breen, Betty O’Shaughnessy and Martina Morrissey in the 10K. Fantastic running by all. Special mention to Martina who completed her first 10k event and not a bother to her.
To everyone else who was out doing training runs over the weekend, well done. Many miles covered overall.
Best of luck to those who are taking part in the 2nd race of the Ballyhoura Active Series in Galbally 4 mile Friday night, Darkness Into Light on Saturday morning and those who are taking part in the 5k & 10k run in Bweeng on Sunday upcoming events. Another busy weekend coming up.
