Chruchtown Roadrunners Club Notes Week Ending 08.04.18

Last Sunday we had Roadrunners competing from Co Clare to Co Cork.  First off was Martina and Margie who headed to Shannon, Co Clare for the GoTri ‘Banner Duathlon’.  This was Margie’s second duathlon and Martina’s first but both girls finished in the Top 8 Ladies which is fantastic.  The girls found the event excellently run with events for all the family with competitions for kids as young as four.
In the afternoon Mike, Katie and Pauline were in Newmarket, Co Cork for the inaugural ‘Duhallow 10’.  A testing route on a warm spring day which was excellently marshalled by Duhallow AC.  Well done guys and congratulations to Pauline on achieving a pb, this was attained by the help of Mike who selflessly gave up his race to accompany her.   Thank you to all the Roadrunners who traveled to Newmarket to support our Roadrunners.
This weekend the second leg of the Michal Rejmer Memorial 5 Mile is on at the Limerick Country Club, on Saturday morning Dromina NS are holding a 5k run/walk in Doneraile Park at 11am.
Aoife O’Sullivan
Congratulations to Churchtown girl Aoife O’Sullivan of Liscarroll AC on winning Gold in the u16 All Ireland High Jump last Sunday in Athlone IT.  This was another career best jump from Aoife jumping 1.67m (5ft6).  Flying the flag yet again for athletics in the parish.
