Last Sunday four of our Roadrunners ran the Adare 10k and recorded great times over a testing course. John ran his first 10k for the club in a fantastic debutant time, accompanied on the day by Linda, Catherine and Neville recording no less than a pb each. Training in the weather we’ve been experiencing since early December has been difficult but it’s heartening to see our members producing pb’s week in week out since the New Year. It’s amazing what you can achieve whilst still enjoying yourself, well done everyone!
Tom Blackburn is holding a trail’hill running clinic, please refer to the Ballyhoura Active news if you are interested in registering. Duhallow AC are holding their inaugural 10 miler this Sunday in Newmarket, we have members who are due to run, fingers crossed the ‘Beast from the East’ and ‘Storm Emma’ won’t interfere with the event. We will as usual carpool to this event. Coming up in the next month the MMRA are holding a 10k at Ballinaboola, the County Road Championships in Castlelyons and the ever popular Mallow 10
If there are any members who are hoping to target a specific race or time during the spring and summer please do not hesitate in asking our Club Captains or any of our more experienced members for help and guidance.
We are holding our Easter raffle again this year and we will be following the same format as last year with regard to club kits, Margie will have cards from this weekend. We are also having an Easter social outing, Bowling in Cork with a date to be confirmed.
