Churchtown Roadrunners AC Club Notes Weekending 03.06.18

Races

Last Sunday on a fab summers day albeit humid conditions Cork City played host to the Cork City Marathon, congratulations to our relay team of five, Rachel, Mike, Sara, Neville and Cathy who finished in an excellent time of 4.25. A big thank you to our seven members, Dave, Linda, Angela, Margie, Katie, Martina and Brian who sacrificed their Bank Holiday Sunday to steward at the event. Well done to all. We finished off the day in glorious sunshine with our annual ‘summer social’ hosted again this year by the Murphy’s. A big thank you to club member Liam who provided a ‘bouncing castle’ to keep our smallies entertained.

This Friday Kilfinane AC host leg #6 of the Ballyhoura Active Series with their 4 mile race. Saturday morning our neighbours Doneraile AC are hosting their first ever race with a 5k at Doneraile Park. We will as usual try to carpool to these races so please keep an eye on our social media for details.

School Exams

The very best of luck to our members who are starting exams this Wednesday and to our members who are nervous parents of students. Ádh mór!

Summer Social/Trip Away

Due to the weekend of 14th July clashing with a lot of other events for our members we have changed the date and venue for our summer club trip away. The new event is the Cahir Half Marathon and Relay on Saturday 7th July. Kicking off a 2pm, runners have the option of the half marathon or the two person relay with each runner covering 6.5 miles. We will be hiring a bus and stopping for food and beverages on the way home.
