Kilmallock AC Club Notes 28/11/2017

Doneraile 5K Saturday 25 November

We had a number of runners taking part in the fundraising 5K held @ Doneraile Wildlife Park last weekend Due to recent storm damage which resulted in what is usually the first mile of 5K runs being blocked by fallen trees a different course was used this time with a very stiff mile with a very challenging climb. The run itself took place in mostly dry but bitingly cold conditions which attracted a crowd of approximately runners. PJ Carey was first across the line just ahead of Janusz Chelstowski. Krzysztof Sikorski and Donie Dwane filled 8th and 9th places respectively.

Limerick indoor championship.

On Saturday the Limerick Indoor Athletics Championships take place in Nenagh and the Club will be sending a team of underage athletes to the event. For many weeks now they have been putting in extra training sessions under the watchful eyes of coaches Tony McMahon and Nuala Collins. The training sessions have taken place @ the Hurling Field Kilmallock thanks to permission from Kilmallock GAA Club. We wish them all the best and hopefully they will bring back a medal or two.
