Scoil Mocheallog 5K Fun Run
On Sunday last the main focus of many club members attention was the fun run/walk organized to fundraise for our local primary school. A large crowd attended the walk with a smaller crowd (possibly because of other runs clashing) took part in the run. Many club runners took part with others helping out with the timing and stewarding. The run itself was won by Willie O’Donoghue of Mooreabbey Milers in a time of 18:45 with our own John Paul McCarthy second in a time of 19:22. Krzysztof Sikorski was third in 20:03. In the women’s race Aisling Ahern won in a time of 21:18. Aisling Ni Chriodain of Kilmallock AC just beat her fellow club runner Aisling Deady by a whisker for second place both clocking 24:44. There was the consolation of a PB for Aisling Deady for the distance.
