Munster schools senior cross country
Björn Downs took part in the Munster schools senior cross country in WIT Sports Campus, Carriganore Waterford on Friday last. Björn twisted his ankle on the 3rd lap, but he battled well to finish 10th. Björn has now qualified for the All Ireland schools cross country Championships which are to take place in Waterford on 10th of March.
On Saturday last Liam O’Donnell headed for the sunny south east of Tramore in Co. Waterford to take part in the local triathlon club duathlon. The duathlon consisted of a 5km run, an 18km cycle and a 3.5km run to finish off. Liam finished brilliantly in the top 20 of his category in just over 60 minutes. Well done Liam.
Well done to Michelle Moroney, Pauline Chapman, Ann Cummins, Padraigin Riggs, Caroline Bourke and Mary Hinchy who ran in the premier Adare 10k hosted by West Limerick A.C. on Sunday last. Padraigin finished 1st in her category. Well done girls.
‘Baby Hannah arriving as she means to go on’ better watch out daddy she could beat your mile dash time. The club would like to congratulate Kevin Lenihan and his lovely wife Amy on the birth their baby daughter Hannah last week. Congratulations.
With no competitive races or championship runs in the calender this weekend our own Tom Blackburn facilitated a hill training morning on the Galtees. The club members are grateful to Tom for providing such days to allow him to pass on his wealth of knowledge and to help everyone improve on their confidence and skills.
‘The Michael ‘Curley’ Cunningham 4 mile’
The Michael ‘Curley’ Cunningham 4 mile run will be held in Galbally on Friday 11th of May at 7.30pm. A perpetual cup will be awarded in his honour to the overall winner of the race along with cash prizes for the first 3 men and women. As Curley wished we will be making a donation to the oncology unit of CUH.
The Cahir Half Marathon
The Cahir Half Marathon is back for the 4th year in succession. This time it’s on Saturday 7th of July, so you can make a weekend of it in the picturesque town of Cahir. Save the date & spread the word. AAI Permit granted. Early bird offer of €25.

Juveniles train each Monday night at 7pm and each Thursday night at 6pm. Juveniles aged 7 and upwards are welcome to attend but must be registered with the club for insurance reasons.
Adults train on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm. New members always welcome.
Thinking of giving up something for lent because your new years resolution got away from you. Why not take up something instead? On Monday nights Tricha Blackburn runs tailored made classes. A programme can be tailored to each person’s ability. This takes place at 7pm in the community field in Galbally.
