Lighting Strikes Twice For Marie
‘County Intermediate Road Championship’
Marie grabs two bronze medals at the county intermediate road championships.
The rescheduled county intermediate road race took place in Faugheen Co. Tipperary last Sunday. Marie ran a lighting quick race to finish 3rd overall winning her a bronze individual medal. Joining her for the team was Aoife Courtney and Mary Pyke, with the ladies closeness to one another in the race the girls won the bronze team medal. In the mooreabbey milers vests for the men was Kieran Lees and Tom Blackburn. Both men finished well in a competitive field for the club.

Slievenamon MMRA/SE League
Meanwhile a few miles down the road six milers were facing the challenge of Slievenamon mountain. On a tough wet course four milers took to the senior 10km course, first down the mountain for the club was Willie O’Donoghue followed by Robert Cunningham then Damien Holian then our only lady out on they day Martina Moloney. In the 5km junior race crossing the finish line first for the club was Patrick Holian followed quickly by Ewan Cunningham.
‘The Michael ‘Curley’ Cunningham 4 mile’
With less then a month to go to the Michael ‘Curley’ Cunningham 4 mile run final touches are being put in place. The race will be chip timed, with safety marshals on the route and light refreshments served in the community hall afterwards. A perpetual cup will be presented to the overall winner of the race on the night in Curleys honour along with cash prizes for the first 3 men and women.
The run will take place in Galbally on Friday 11th of May at 7.30pm.
As per Curley wishes we will be making a donation to the oncology unit of CUH.

‘The Cahir Half Marathon’
The Cahir Half Marathon is back for the 4th year in succession. This time it’s on Saturday 7th of July, so you can make a weekend of it in the picturesque town of Cahir. AAI Permit granted. Register on https://www.njuko.net/cahir-
Juveniles train each Monday night at 7pm and each Thursday night at 6pm. Juveniles aged 7 and upwards are welcome to attend but must be registered with the club for insurance reasons. Registration forms are available at training each night.

Tricha Blackburn runs tailored made running classes every week. Whether your looking to do your first 5km, to improve your 5km to a 7km or looking to hit the 10km mark everyone is welcome. A programme can be tailored to each person’s ability. This takes place each Monday night at 7pm.
All training takes place in the community field in Galbally.
